Which type of accounts, and with which banks, are allowed?
Shofar uses Nedbank Business Banking (ABSA may be used if there is no Nedbank branch in town). The following current accounts are permitted for individual Shofar Family Churches:
- Main account
- Bodyserve account
- Missions account
- Events account
May I apply for an overdraft on our congregation account?
Unfortunately no overdraft facility is currently allowed.
Which signatories are required on a Shofar bank account and how do I amend the current signatories?
You will need to provide the National Finance Administrator with the names. The names must be that of the Senior Pastor and at least one other member of the congregation.
How do I open a new bank account?
All that you need to do is to send an email to finance@shofaronline.org to request the opening of a new bank account, along with your motivation for opening a new account. Please also provide the names of the signatories, which must be the Senior Pastor and at least one other member of the congregation.
How can I request a new online banking token/dongle (or a re-issue of an old token)?
HQ Finance will forward the authorised document to Nedbank once you have sent a request to accounts@shofaronline.org with the following information:
- Is it a new token or a re-issue of old token/dongle?
- User ID or name that needs the token/dongle.
- The delivery address where the token/dongle must be delivered to.
- The reason why a new, or reissue, of a token/dongle is required.
Please note that only HQ Finance may authorise issue or reissue of tokens.
What should I do if I am experiencing problems with my internet banking token/dongle?
Please contact Nedbank Business directly as HQ Finance will unfortunately not be able to assist you.
The number to call is: 0860 555 333
What should I do in order to get a bank card issued?
Please send an email to finance@shofaronline.org requesting the card issue.
