When does Shofar’s financial year end each year?

This does not include: Namibia Congregations, UK congregations and European congregations. Their financial year-end each year is 31 March; 30 June and 30 September respectively.

Which reports does Shofar Head Office require each week?

  1. Weekly offering cash-up spreadsheet
  2. Weekly petty cash spreadsheets (for all cash including forex used for missions)
  3. Weekly debit card control sheets
  4. Weekly snapscan report
  5. Responses to queries on transactions by the Accountant at HQ

What am I obligated to my congregation for in terms of financial reporting each week?

Members requiring insight about the congregations’ financial affairs should be referred to the quarterly congregational meetings, whereby detailed feedback is given. For more detail about the quarterly congregational meetings, refer to paragraph 23 of the Constitution.

I want a SnapScan code, what must I do?

Send an email to finance@shofaronline.org requesting a SnapScan code, because in all likelihood Shofar HQ already applied for one on your behalf.

We generally allow two types of SnapScan codes;

  • Information Desk Code: This allows a custom reference to be inserted for e.g. “Jannie Encounter 1 registration”
  • Giving Code: This provides a dropdown menu as reference when payment is made for, Tithes & Offering, Missions, Bodyserve & Building Fund
