What is my responsibility as church relating to financial record keeping?

  • Transactions should be promptly recorded in the financial records (Accountants at HQ).
  • All expenses should be supported by valid documentation: Invoice/slip/contract.
  • All documentation must be filed by the congregation per month and in alphabetic order according to supplier.
  • All files must be sent to HQ in Franshoek during the first week of January for auditing purposes.
  • Financial records and supporting documentation must be kept for 5 years.
